Woodhall Spa 617 Sqn Memorial
The Dambuster Memorial erected in 1987, serves memory to the heroes of 617 Squadron. The monument stands in Royal Square, formally the site of the Royal Hydro Hotel and Winter Gardens which were both destroyed by a bomb in 1943.
This memorial does not just commemorate the loses during the 'Dambusters' raid as Wing Cdr Guy Gibson is along with many others are mentioned.

Thorpe Camp
Formerly part of RAF Woodhall Spa. The site was constructed in 1940 and housed the Officer's and Sergeant's Messes, Airmen's dining hall and NAAFI building. Several of the buildings have been returned to their original condition and now house displays depicting the stories and the history of RAF Woodhall Spa and the Squadrons based there during World War II.
The place is only open a couple of times each week and was not open when I arrived.
Pride of place and the star for me is the Lightning which has recently had power applied and some systems run up for the first time in many many years.

RAF Coningsby
Coningsby this week is on night flying so very little activity was taking place during this quick stop.
Interesting to see the work being carried out on 29 sqn ZJ910/BV notice the missing fin tip and the componants normally never visible.
ZK300 an uncoded 6 sqn machine sits and waits for the evening action.
The BBMF Lancaster, Spitfir and Hurricane departed to Lowestoft seafront airshow.

RAF Waddington
As I pulled into the car park these 4 sqn harriers were coming down the runway, a quick stop and grab of the camera and step ladder resulted in these shots.
To much traffic on the A15 meant I was unable to cross the road for the first aircraft.
